Do we still have grave sites available?

Yes, we have enough grave sites to be available for many years to come.

How do I purchase a lot in the cemetery?

Come to the cemetery office and the Supervisor will show you which lots are available. After you choose a lot, you need only fill out the lot purchase form and make payment in cash or check. You will then receive a deed to the plot in the mail within a couple of months.

How many people may be buried in a single grave site?

Each grave site can accomodate 2 caskets, or 4 cremation vaults or 1 casket and 1 cremation vault .

Are there any grave sites available in the “old” section?

Yes, on occassion, we sell lots for other people who no longer need their grave sites in the old section.

Do we accept credit cards for purchase of cemetery lot?

No, we accept only cash or check.

When may I put up a headstone following a burial?

Anytime. The graves are packed following burial so that they do not sink with time.

Is perpetual care included in the purchase of a plot?

Yes.

How old is the cemetery?

The Cemetery actually has its origins to the 1777 Battle of the Brandywine. See the History Tab. The adjacent Friends Meeting founded their cemetery in 1842 and it was made non-denominational in 1892.
